Hamish 13 month old ruby Cavalier
Handsome 13-month-old Ruby Cavalier Hamish is looking for his forever home.
Hamish came to the rescue as his owner, very sadly, couldn’t care for him any more.
He is a sweet but nervous boy. He loves his humans and a big cuddle and fuss. After a day of play and running around, he enjoys nothing more than a nap on the sofa’s on a lap. He sleeps really well through the night and is toilet-trained.
We would prefer an adopter who is prepared to take him for socialisation sessions or has experience with anxious dogs. He needs slow introductions to new scenarios and places and plenty of stimulation and exercise.
He is crate trained if needed but hasn’t used a crate in his foster home. He travels well in the car with a harness and seatbelt attached.
Hamish is really human-orientated, so he would do well as an only dog as long as his humans are around most of the time and have time to dedicate to him. Equally, he can be rehomed with other dogs; he gets on very well with males of a similar age.
Hamish has no known health problems but does suffer from anxiety. This could be because he needs more socialisation and would no doubt benefit from some classes in his forever home. He is too young to be neutered, so he will leave on a neuter contract for when he is 18-24 months old. He is up to date with vaccines and parasite preventatives.
Children 10+ due to his anxiety.
Hamish is in foster in Beverley, East Yorkshire. His adopter(s) must be prepared to purchase a lifetime insurance policy or have the means to cover future health issues. Home workers must be able to produce a contract/or a letter from their employer. Tenants must send a letter from their landlord stating they have permission to have the dog at their property.
Please only apply when you have discussed this with all family members, are committed to offering the dog a home, and have fully considered their needs.
The successful applicants must be able to travel to the foster home for the meet and greet and be immediately available for a home check. The meet and greet must occur within five days of a successful home check. Can we please remind you not to telephone the rescue regarding adoptions at any time.
