Adoption Procedure

• The adoption fee is currently £325 for dogs over 12 months old – this only partially covers any veterinary treatment the dogs have received while in rescue. Cavaliers have a multitude of health problems and most that come into rescue need extensive veterinary treatment.

• The adoption fee for puppies under 12 months old is £475.

• All of our dogs will be vaccinated, microchipped, neutered/spayed, have flea and mite treatment and will be wormed prior to being rehomed (unless there is a medical reason why this cannot take place). They will also receive any other necessary veterinary care including dentals, heart scans etc

• All adopters resident dogs must be neutered unless there is a medical reason why this cannot be carried out, we will require a letter from the applicants vet if this is the case.

• Once your application form has been completed and returned you will receive an email to inform you that we have received your application. If you do not receive this email please contact us: info@blisscavalierrescue.org.

• If your home fits the dogs needs then you will be contacted by the application team. A telephone interview will take place if the dog is a suitable match.

• A home check prior to meeting the dog will apply- this must be undertaken within 5 days of your telephone interview. You may also be required to give references ie from your veterinarian. A non refundable fee of £25 is required prior to us booking a home check- the £25 fee will be deducted from the adoption fee.

• If your home check is successful you will then be offered the opportunity to meet the dog with a view to adopt. You will need to visit the dog in their foster home with the rest of your family that live in your house, including any dogs that you already have within 5 days of a successful home check.

• We will not hold dogs due to holidays etc. Please do not submit an application form until you are ready to commit and have discussed with all family members.

• Bliss Cavalier Rescue will always be on hand to support you with any questions you may have going forwards.

• Our procedures are carried out to ensure the safety and well being of every dog that is rescued and rehomed. We will always take individual circumstances into account and are more than happy to discuss any concerns that you have via email.

• Please do not telephone the rescue regarding applications, we are more than happy to discuss anything via email.
