    💗 About Edie

Edie is a beautiful 5-year-old Cavalier who came into rescue from a breeding background. Since arriving in foster care, she has been gently learning what life as a much-loved companion dog can be.

With the support of the resident dogs in her foster home, Edie has made lovely progress. She has gained confidence, quickly learnt the household routine and is beginning to enjoy walks and affection on her own terms.

Edie is still naturally shy around people she does not know and needs a home that will allow her to build relationships at her own pace. She is not a dog who wants people rushing up to her or expecting instant affection. Once she feels safe, however, her sweet and affectionate personality begins to appear.

She has become something of a foodie since having her dental treatment. Now that she is comfortable eating, she thoroughly enjoys her meals and treats and definitely knows when treat time is approaching! She has even started doing the occasional excited little spin when something particularly good is on offer.

At night, Edie sleeps on her foster mum’s bed and will cuddle up beside her. These little moments show just how far she has already come and how much affection she has to give once she trusts someone.

Edie has been excellent with visiting dogs and takes a great deal of confidence from canine company. Because of her breeding background and the progress she has made with the help of the resident dogs, she must live with at least one suitable, confident resident dog who can continue to support her.

Small children make Edie uncomfortable and she will hide away from them. She would therefore be better suited to a home with older children who understand that she needs her own space and must be allowed to approach them when she feels ready.

Edie is a gentle little girl who does not need to be pushed or hurried. She needs patient adopters who will give her routine, reassurance and time to continue blossoming into the confident companion she is becoming.

For the right home, Edie will be an incredibly rewarding little dog. Watching her confidence grow, seeing those excited spins and earning those nighttime cuddles will make every small step worthwhile.
