π About Cookie
Cookie is a gentle 5-year-old Cavalier who has come such a long way since arriving in rescue. She came from a breeding background as a very shut-down, trembling little dog, and it has been wonderful to watch her grow into a much more confident and curious girl in her foster home.
She has done brilliantly learning about normal home life, things like walking on a lead, going up and down stairs, and being part of a family. While she is still learning, she is making steady progress and will continue to do so in the right home.
Cookie has a lovely, soft nature and has been great with meeting people, although she can be unsure around larger dogs and does not like entire males. She absolutely loves smaller dogs and still shows a gentle βmotheringβ instinct towards them, likely from her past.
She has some very endearing little quirks, including collecting toys and carrying items like tea towels or her foster mumβs jumper back to her bed. It has been a joy to see her begin to play, with little zoomies starting to appear as her confidence grows.
Cookie enjoys affection, especially chin scratches and ear rubs, and will gaze up at you with her beautiful eyes. She is not quite ready for full sofa life yet, but she is getting there and will continue to blossom.
She is a larger Cavalier at around 14.5kg, but not overweight, and will benefit from continued exercise to build muscle and strength.
Cookie will need a home with at least one confident and friendly dog to help guide her, and patient adopters who understand that she is still learning about the world.
