π About Luna
Luna is a beautiful 5-year-old Blenheim Cavalier who came into rescue from a breeding environment. She is still a very timid little girl, but is slowly learning that life can be safe, kind, and full of love.
She is making lovely progress in foster, and her confidence is growing a little more each day. Once she starts to trust you, Luna is incredibly affectionate. She loves being on your knee, snuggling up on the sofa, and curling in at bedtime. She will gently follow her person around the home, wanting to be close and reassured.
Luna is still nervous of new people and unfamiliar situations, and this will take time and patience to work through. She is particularly unsure on the lead at the moment and will need gentle, ongoing training to build her confidence when out and about.
Despite this, her lovely nature is really starting to shine through. She has a playful side that is beginning to emerge, especially when she feels safe and receives praise. She travels very well in the car and settles nicely on the back seat.
Luna is a soft, sensitive girl who will need a calm, understanding home that allows her to continue building trust at her own pace.
πΎ Health & Medical Needs
β
Health conditions: Luna arrived with advanced dental disease, which has been treated with an extensive dental and she is now much more comfortable.
Initial blood tests showed a temporary increase in liver enzymes, which was fully investigated. No underlying liver disease was found, and repeat blood tests have since returned to normal, so this is not currently an ongoing concern.
She has mild dry eye (KCS), which is managed with eye drops, and a low-grade (grade 2) heart murmur, which does not currently require treatment but should be monitored over time.
She also has skin allergies, which are currently well controlled.
Luna’s adoption fee is reduced due to health issues.
π On medication? Yes β Apoquel for skin allergies and ongoing eye medication for dry eye. Apoquel may be reviewed in future with the adopterβs vet. Cost currently (April 2026 purchased from a pharmacy online): Apoquel Β£33 a month, Optimmune Β£39 a month – veterinary prescription costs are approx Β£15-25 and last 3/6 months.
