Louis- Adopted

Louis is a gorgeous 2 year old Blenheim Cavalier that came into rescue due to his challenging behaviour.

Louis has had some problems with resource guarding and has shown aggression to the children living in his previous home. He also barks at strangers and other dogs when on walks which is starting to improve.

Since arrival at his foster home he has very much enjoyed the company of the resident Cavaliers. He is being walked for 2 hours every day over 2 sessions and this is really helping him, in his new home this level of exercise will need to continue to keep him stimulated and therefore less anxious. Already he has shown signs of improvement and it seems it is just that he needs to get used to socialising. His resource guarding is something his foster family are working on and already seeing good results, his training will need to continue in his forever home.

He loves to play with toys and fetch them and has a lot of energy! He is also very cuddly and such a sweet little boy.

Louis has been very recently diagnosed by MRI with mild Chiari Malformation and mild Syringomyelia. He is doing very well on his pain relief at the moment, as time progresses it is possible he will need to have his medication tweaked. He is otherwise very fit and healthy.

Louis absolutely cannot be rehomed with children or visiting children under 14 years old. He will chases cat when he gets the opportunity. Ideally he would like a young, playful resident Cavalier in his forever home and an owner willing to put lots of time into his training.

Louis is in foster in Pontefract, Yorkshire. You will be required to travel to his foster home for the meet and greet. More information regarding our latest Covid-19 protocol will be made available following a successful telephone interview and home check.
