Lexi Cocker Spaniel

About Lexi

Lexi is a petite and adorable 7 year old, orange roan Cocker Spaniel.

She is an ex breeding girl and is looking for a quiet home, with lots of lovely walks and a resident dog to give her confidence and show her the ropes.

Lexi is a real 'love bug' and adores everyone that will cuddle her! She will jump at you for a fuss and paw at you until you give her lots of attention! She will cuddle up on the sofa in the evenings, basically as much as possible! She is still a nervous girl but is gaining confidence every day. She loves exploring the garden and going on walks, the only thing that concerns her is other dogs barking at her when out, even if they are in their garden.

Lexi travels well in the car, in a car seat, attached by her harness. As yet she doesn't really play with toys, she will chew a nylabone and briefly carry a tug toy. If you throw a toy in the garden she is scared and will rush indoors. At night she will happily sleep in the kitchen with the other dogs. She is house trained and is not concerned by household sounds. She can be left for short periods with no problems.

Lexi has some discomfort in her hind legs and had been prescribed an anti inflammatory for this. She has had a dental, no teeth required removal. She was spayed and was also discovered to have a closed pyometra, she was a lucky girl that this was found before it started to cause serious problems. She also had to have three mammary tumours removed, her ear infection has cleared up. Lexi has disliked having her ears looked at by the vets but has been happy for foster mum to put in the drops as required.

Lexi is a loving, gentle girl who will make a wonderful companion, with her adopter continuing to work on her confidence. Due to her background and nervousness any children must be over 14 years old and no cats.

Lexi is in foster in Horncastle, Lincolnshire. The successful applicants must be able to travel to foster home for the meet and greet.
