Tucker 11 month old Cavalier X puppy
Tucker is a handsome 11-month-old Cavalier X puppy looking for a wonderful forever home.
He is an absolute sweetheart but came into rescue due to his resource guarding and some behavioural issues. He is a food guarder, so we have eliminated that issue by feeding him his meals and treats separately. Sometimes, he will want a toy that another dog may have and may pick up household objects to guard. He has made excellent progress, although he can be quite ignorant! Due to his young age, we are sure he will do well with puppy training classes and experienced owners.
Tucker loves exercise and walks. He will need ongoing training before he can be let off the lead, as he can ignore you completely in favour of sniffing! He travels really well in the back seat with a harness and clip-in seat belt.
He is a super cuddly and kissy boy who loves nothing more than draping his body over you so he can give you billions of kisses! Tucker loves a sofa session for cuddles, and he adores other dogs.
Tucker is neutered, has no known health issues currently and is up to date with vaccinations and parasite preventatives. If we had to guess the cross he is, it looks as though something like a dachshund could be possible as he has a longer body and short legs.
Due to his guarding issues, Tucker cannot be rehomed with young children. He also likes to chase cats, so he cannot be rehomed with one, sadly. Tucker can be rehomed with or without other dogs, but his adopter needs to be around most of the time.
Tucker is in foster in North Lincolnshire. His adopter(s) must be prepared to purchase a lifetime insurance policy or have the means to cover future health issues. Home workers must be able to produce a contract/or a letter from their employer. Tenants must send a letter from their landlord stating they have permission to have the dog at their property.
Please only apply when you have discussed this with all family members, are committed to offering the dog a home, and have fully considered their needs.
The successful applicants must be able to travel to the foster home for the meet and greet and be immediately available for a home check. The meet and greet must occur within five days of a successful home check. Can we please remind you not to telephone the rescue regarding adoptions at any time. You are more than welcome to email us with any [email protected]
