Ruben Blenheim Cavalier King Charles Spaniel
Ruben is a beautiful 9 year old Blenheim Cavalier that came into rescue from a pet home.
She is a little sweetheart but sadly does suffer from anxiety in some situations. She is looking for a quiet forever home where she will receive lots of love and attention. She loves snuggling up for cuddles and is very human orientated, she is looking for a home where her human will be around for most of the time.
Ruben has anxiety when she is in a ‘closed-in’ environment and needs plenty of space. She does not like to be around noisy, young or boisterous dogs but will happily snuggle in with a similar energy dog to herself. She can be nervous around other dogs, not so much when out walking but certainly when at home. She does not like children at all and babies crying (even on TV) really frightens her.
She loves walkies and rides out in the car to new places. She is great when meeting new people and is a joy to take out anywhere.
Sadly like many other Cavaliers, Ruben is symptomatic of Chiari Malformation with pain which explains a lot of her anxious behaviour. Her symptoms prior to pain relief were yelping when being lifted or being touched on her sides/tummy, head rubbing and restlessness at night. She is on inexpensive pain relief and will need to remain on this. Ruben has a very slight heart murmur but does not need treatment or scanning at this time.
We are looking for a loving adopter that will spoil Ruben, take her on lovely walks and be around most of the time. She cannot be rehomed with children under 12. She can be rehomed as an only dog, or with a quiet and friendly, older dog.
Ruben is in foster in North Lincolnshire. Her adopter must be prepared to purchase a lifetime insurance policy or have the means to cover any future health issues. Home workers must be able to produce a contract from their employer. Tenants must send a letter from their landlord stating that they have permission to have the dog at their property.
The successful applicants must be able to travel to the foster home for the meet and greet and be immediately available for a home check. The meet and greet must take place within 5 days of a successful home check. Please can we remind you not to telephone the rescue regarding adoptions at any time, you are more than welcome to email us with any [email protected]
