Precious Pixie and Angel, approx 7-8 years old, are looking for a wonderful forever home together. Reduced adoption fee applies.
The girls were found dumped in a field in a really horrific state by a breeder. Pixie and Angel were bred repeatedly until they were in absolute dire straits. They have been in rescue for a few months so that we could improve their health so they are set up for their happy ending.
They both had dreadful skin and were missing most of their fur. They had open wounds, tumours, demodex and untreated allergies. Both girls had been gnawing on metal bars, so they had multiple fractured teeth and exposed roots. They both had mammary tumours, which thankfully were benign but needed to be removed and sent for testing. They are now a healthy weight after gaining a few kilos.
Pixie is generally more confident and trusting of the two girls when out and about or meeting people. She will happily greet new people, and typically, Angel will follow at her own pace, a little more cautiously. Angel prefers to hold back a bit and has a more shy personality. They are both great with other dogs. They love their food and are little piggies!
The girls love being outside in the secure paddock to sniff and explore. Angel isn’t sure of busier places yet and will need time to adjust to her adopters so she can trust them enough to look after her in scary situations. Pixie is much better and will walk in front. Both girls are great with travelling in the car and quickly settle. They sleep extremely well together and are very quiet after their bedtime treat routine.
Pixie is heart clear. While in rescue, she had mammary tumours removed, was spayed, and had extensive dental work. Pixie has dry eye and is responding incredibly well to treatment; this must be continued for the rest of her life. Angel has a grade 2 heart murmur that will need monitoring. She has also had mammary tumours removed, been spayed, and had extensive dental work. Angel is on a non-steroidal medication for hip dysplasia with osteoarthritis (confirmed by x-rays) and a joint supplement; she must remain on both. Both girls will need ongoing allergy medication. We will go into further detail with the shortlisted applicants but the rescue will cover the cost of their current medications for the rest of their lives to ensure they get what they need.
They are up to date with parasite treatments and vaccinations.
We are looking for a home for them with or without other dogs. Resident and visiting children 10+.
They are incredibly special girls who lived through hell until only a few months ago. We want them to have the best quality of diva life possible, be taken to lovely places and have their world opened up. Please only apply if you are dedicated to giving the girls the home they deserve and have time and patience for them.
Pixie and Angel are in foster in North Lincolnshire. Their adopters must be prepared to purchase a lifetime insurance policy or have the means to cover any future health issues. Home workers must be able to produce a contract/or a letter from their employer. Tenants must send a letter from their landlord stating they have permission to have the dog at their property.
The successful applicants must be able to travel to the foster home for the meet and greet and be immediately available for a home check. The meet and greet must occur within 5 days of a successful home check. Can we please remind you not to telephone the rescue regarding adoptions at any time. You are more than welcome to email us with any [email protected]
