black and tan Cavalier

Buddy is an 18-month-old black and tan Cavalier who came to us under sad circumstances

He is a quiet, gentle boy who likes other dogs and people. He has got on well with his foster fur brothers, but he is slightly intimidated when it comes to playing with them. He would like a playmate his size (around 9kg) but is happy with dogs of most sizes on walks. He may hide behind his foster mum’s legs for bigger boisterous dogs.

Buddy likes to play with his toys in the evening, asking for them to be thrown by doing a gentle grumble and bringing them straight back. He will also do this grumble when he wants to be helped up onto your knee for a cuddle and a nap. He is a very well-behaved boy but will need some training on the lead as he pulls a little. He loves his walk and is a bit excited and will need recall training before he can go off the lead.

He is currently heart clear and up to date with vaccinations and flea and parasite treatments. Buddy has a grade one luxating patella that doesn’t need surgery at the moment but may in future. This will not be covered by insurance as it is an existing condition; also, luxating patella can happen on both sides, so it will be wise to research and consider this before applying for him.

Buddy is a sweet, gentle boy who has been a dream to foster and can go with children 8+ he needs a home with a little fun and a lot of love.

Buddy is in foster in Wakefield, Yorkshire. His adopter(s) must be prepared to purchase a lifetime insurance policy or have the means to cover future health issues.  Pre-existing issues are rarely insurable. Home workers must be able to produce a contract/letter from their employer. Tenants must send a letter from their landlord stating they have permission to have the dog at their property.

The successful applicants must be able to travel to the foster home for the meet and greet and be immediately available for a home check. The meet and greet must occur within 5 days of a successful home check.
