We are sure that many of you are avidly watching our social media pages and website for an update to our current adoption procedure.
Very sadly when we all went into lockdown due to the Coronavirus pandemic the government set rules for rescue organisations to keep us all safe. They advised local adoptions only and that the rescue volunteers needed to take the dogs to their forever homes so that members of the public would not be travelling. This wasn’t a decision taken by us, it was a government level decision. Many members of the public have been extremely unhappy and disappointed with the current situation, it has been completely beyond our control.
On the 12th April (all being well) outdoor hospitality, gyms, hairdressers and shops will be reopening.
It is looking likely that this will be the date we can return to nationwide adoptions once again, this really is absolutely fantastic news! It also means that adopters can travel to our foster homes for the meet and greets.
We will have to continue to carry out the meet and greets outside as previously, for now at least. Thankfully the weather has started to improve, we can make the best of it! We will even be able to make our adopters a drink again, the small things make all the difference!
We have had so many adoptions in the last few months in the pouring rain and wind, it hasn’t been at all easy for us and we are so pleased the end is in sight.
We do not yet have a date for when home checks can be carried out again in person. We will keep you updated.
A more official update to our adoption procedure will be made nearer the time and we will also post the news here and on social media too. Fingers, paws and everything crossed!
