CJ Tricolour Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

CJ is a handsome 8 year old Tricolour Cavalier boy that came into rescue from a pet home in sad circumstances. His adoption fee has been reduced due to his age and health conditions.

He really is the most lovable rogue leaving people swooning after him! He loves to cuddle up to his hoomans on the sofa and sleep at the foot of their bed at night.

CJ is deaf but it doesn’t affect his quality of life and he does very well. He came into the rescue a bit overweight and since he has lost the weight he is so much better for it. He absolutely loves his walkies and can be a bit stubborn when he finds something that smells wonderful, there is no moving him until he is ready. He will sit nicely for a treat and give you his paw. He has mild separation anxiety but that is improving. He travels very well in the car.

He has a medium-grade heart murmur so has started heart medication following an echocardiogram while in rescue. He has had a major dental and been neutered while with us and also a vaccine course. CJ had a lump removed from his paw but doesn’t need any further treatment for this. He has mild chiari malformation pain and some arthritis so is on inexpensive pain relief for this. He doesn’t enjoy having his feet touched or his ears cleaned because of his chiari pain but otherwise, he is very well managed and for the most part you wouldn’t even know anything is wrong.

He is looking for a home either as an only dog or with another dog, ideally a female. He is looking for a home where his owner is around most of the time although he can be left for short periods with no problems.

CJ is in foster near Barnsley, Yorkshire. His adopter must be prepared to purchase a lifetime insurance policy or have the means to cover any future health issues. Home workers must be able to produce a contract from their employer. Tenants must send a letter from their landlord stating that they have permission to have the dog at their property.
The successful applicants must be able to travel to the foster home for the meet and greet and be immediately available for a home check. The meet and greet must take place within 5 days of a successful home check.
