Callie is a petite, 6 year old Blenheim Cavalier who came into rescue from a pet home.In a previous life she has had at least one litter of puppies but we don't have her full history. She loves other dogs and likes to be near her foster mum but is alright being left for short periods of time. She does suffer with some separation anxiety due to being left a lot in her previous home however she is much better already, obviously her adopter will need to be around most of the time.Callie loves going for walks, having a good sniff as she goes, she gets excited when she meets other dogs but doesn't make a noise and doesn't react to traffic. She is not fazed by household sounds as her hearing isn't very good.Sadly Callie does have Chiari Malformation with pain and Syringomyelia, she is on Loxicom and Gabapentin which is currently really helping her symptoms. She does air scratch when she’s excited but isn’t vocalising pain as often as she was, her adopter must keep her on medication to ensure she isn’t suffering. She currently has a very mild heart murmur which will need to be monitored. She has some loss of hearing but this doesn't impact on her life.Callie would benefit from having a resident dog to play with, she enjoys exploring the garden but as yet doesn't play with toys. She is not cat tested. We would prefer a home for her where she can have her own space as and when she needs it, she could go to a home with older children that will be mindful of her condition.
