Beau Blenheim Cavalier King Charles Spaniel age 5

Beau is an almost 5-year-old ex-breeding little Cavalier girl who has settled in well in foster care.

A reduced adoption fee applies.

She is friendly and loving and enjoys cuddles and affection. She needs significant lead training as she isn’t accustomed to going out for walks, but she enjoys them when she’s feeling confident. Beau does exhibit some separation anxiety and may protest when left alone for a while, though she eventually settles. Part of the issue is due to her being deaf; she doesn’t always know where you are in the house when you leave the room. However, this is improving with her growing confidence.

As she gains confidence, she’s becoming a little mischievous, and you can see her true character starting to emerge.

While in foster care, Beau has been spayed and has undergone extensive dental treatment. She also had a heart scan after it was discovered she had a grade 4-5 murmur. The scan indicated some enlargement of the heart, and she has since started on medication. She will require further monitoring to ensure her heart responds well to the medication. Beau also suffers from CM/SM but has started treatment and is showing improvement, especially now that her dental issues aren’t exacerbating her pain.

Beau would benefit from having someone around most of the time and would appreciate the company of a resident dog to support her. This companionship would help boost her confidence and effectively “be her ears”. Currently, Beau sleeps on her foster mum’s bed alongside other dogs. She needs the company to relax, and feel safe and loved. Beau has been amicable with other dogs and people.

She could be homed with older children (12 and over) who will respect her need for space. She hasn’t been tested with cats. Ultimately, Beau needs that special home to give her the life she rightly deserves.

Beau is in foster in Wakefield, West Yorkshire. Her adopters must be prepared to purchase a lifetime insurance policy or have the means to cover any future health issues. Home workers must be able to produce a contract/or a letter from their employer. Tenants must send a letter from their landlord stating they have permission to have the dog at their property.
The successful applicants must be able to travel to the foster home for the meet and greet and be immediately available for a home check. The meet and greet must occur within 5 days of a successful home check. Please can we remind you not to telephone the rescue regarding adoptions at any time.
