About King

King is a stunning 5-year-old tri coloured Cavalier boy who is full of energy, full of love and a little bit of mischief thrown in making him so loveable.

He is a looking for a forever home where he can be the only dog and have all the attention- he is looking for a wonderful family that he can reward with love and affection.

He is happy to walk on a lead for up to an hour at least twice a day and loves exploring new walks. His adopter needs to be fit and strong as he isn't a small Cavalier. He gets very excitable when he sees other dogs and pulls hard, we are working to improve this. He is happy in a car and travels well. He can be left for short periods but does prefer company and to know someone is there. He stays close by and loves a cuddle on the sofa.

He will also need a commitment to further training. He is highly intelligent, and food motivated and is super quick and keen to learn. He is responding well and has mastered many commands with enthusiasm.

Since coming into rescue he has been neutered and had a luxating patella operation. Exercise is currently restricted but building up weekly and the vets are really pleased with his progress. He has also had a particularly nasty ear infection treated. King has hip dysplasia in both hip joints and adopters will need to follow a management plan. This will potentially include pain medication and joint supplements for life, careful diet management to avoid any weight gain and managed exercise. This can be discussed more fully with potential adopters but certainly does not affect his enthusiasm for life and fun.

King seems unfazed by cats that he sees out walking but is not cat tested in a house environment. Due to his size and strength children should be aged 12 and over.

King is in foster in Beverley, East Yorkshire. The successful applicants must be able to travel to foster home for the meet and greet.
