About Ellie

Ellie is a gorgeous 5 year old Cavalier that came to us due to a change in her owners circumstance.

Ellie has been enjoying life in her foster home with the other dogs and is a lovely little girl. She has been doing some lead training with her foster mum and is improving every day, she is vocal for the first 5-10 minutes but this should improve as she gets more used to walking.

She needs lots of attention and stimulation, for this reason she will need her adopters around all day. She can only be left very short periods as she suffers from separation anxiety and can be vocal. Training for her separation anxiety must continue in her new home and her adopter must be prepared to put work in.

Ellie had impacted anal glands so will need them emptied monthly at the vets in her new home, she had already had an anal gland infection so monthly vet visits are crucial to prevent another infection. She has a luxating knee which is very likely to need surgery in the future- please only apply if you have the finances to cover this as insurance will not cover pre-existing conditions. Her weight will need to be kept right down and she will need exercising twice daily for 45-60 mins per walk to keep her muscles strong.

Ellie needs a home with her humans around all of the time, she cannot be rehomed with children under 10 and is not cat tested.

Ellie is in foster in Bishop Auckland in the North East. You will be required to travel to her foster home for the meet and greet. More information regarding our latest Covid-19 protocol will be made available following a successful telephone interview and home check.

Please read our adoption procedure prior to filling in the online form. We are more than happy to answer any questions you may have.
