About Digby
Digby is a 7-year-old Tricolour Cavalier with a big personality and a heart full of love. Heβs a cheeky chap who adores his walks, cuddles, and, of course, food! In fact, food is his absolute favourite thing, and heβs not shy about helping himself to leftovers or sneaking treats from other dogs if given the chance.
Unfortunately, he was returned following a short adoption, but not due to any fault of Digby’s. He is under assessment again, currently in his foster home.
He travels well in the car and walks nicely on the lead once heβs settled, though he may bark at other dogs in excitement when first setting out. Heβs friendly with dogs and cats, and while he loves being close to his humans for cuddles, he also values his own space at times. He would very much enjoy stimulation like playing at home and in the garden without over-exercising him.
Digby is on lifetime medication for Chiari Malformation, syringomyelia pain, and disc disease. Digby has had a full specialist-led neurology and orthopaedic workup. He has low-grade luxating knees, which means he should not be over-exercised, but does well with short walks and very much needs and enjoys them. Digby has had a major dental treatment for an ear infection and a paw pad infection while in rescue. He is heart clear, up to date with vaccinations and parasite preventatives.
Heβs now fully house trained, sleeps soundly, and is happy to be left for short periods.
He would love a home where his fun-loving, slightly mischievous nature will be enjoyed, with adopters who are happy to manage his food stealing with patience and humour. In return, Digby will bring endless affection, companionship, and plenty of laughs.
π‘ Adoption Criteria
π‘ Type of home required: A loving, patient home with structure, ideally as an only dog. Adopters must be comfortable managing his cheeky food-stealing habits and his excitement around new dogs and people. His adopter will need to be confident and strong enough to manage his behaviour on walks, including re-pulling and barking at other dogs initially. He will need ongoing socialisation and training.
