Bryn ruby Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

Bryn is a gorgeous 6-year-old ruby Cavalier, he came to rescue from a breeding establishment.

Despite his awful start to life as a stud dog he is absolutely full of life and loves nothing more than belly rubs and giving cuddles. He is a little bit of a cheeky boy who will steal your food given the chance and will sit on your head to be close to you.

He loves nothing more than running around the garden with the other dogs barking at the cheeky squirrels on the fence, or any animals that dare to come onto the TV screen!

Bryn is currently learning to walk on a lead and does get very nervous when being taken outside, he will need a confident dog to help him when out on walks. He will need ongoing training when he has been adopted, thankfully he is food orientated and very clever so it is likely he will pick things up very quickly.

Due to his background, he did have accidents when he first arrived in rescue but is now fully house-trained and can last all through the night. Bryn likes to sleep in the bedroom and will sleep either on the bed or the chair in the bedroom (he isn’t a snorer!). Bryn travels really well in the car with no sickness or anxiety and settles down really quick and sleeps.

He has just had an echocardiogram to determine if he will need to start any heart medication, as by chance the vets found that he has a slightly enlarged heart on x-ray. The measurements were under the criteria for starting medication, so for now he doesn’t need any but may do in the future. Bryn’s adopter will need to book him in for a repeat echocardiogram in around 6 months’ time to check that he is still doing well. He has some trauma to his ribs from being either crushed or kicked, this does not cause any pain now.

Bryn is an absolutely amazing loving boy and an absolute joy around the house, he is a typical Cavalier who likes to be with his human everywhere. He is absolutely fine being left in the house for short periods but he will bark when you first leave. His adopter will need to be around most of the time.

We are looking for a home for Bryn with at least one other confident dog to teach him that the world isn’t a scary place. Bryn would chase and potentially hurt cats very sadly. Children and visiting children 10+.

Bryn is in foster in Pontefract, West Yorkshire. His adopter must be prepared to purchase a lifetime insurance policy or have the means to cover any future health issues. Home workers must be able to produce a contract from their employer. Tenants must send a letter from their landlord stating that they have permission to have the dog at their property.
