Olly is a handsome 8 year old boy that came into rescue from a pet home in sad circumstances.Olly loves nothing more than being on the sofa with you, ideally sat on you but if not definitely sat next to you touching you. He has come from a pet home and is fully house trained and will stand by the door for you to let him out when he needs to go outside. He has had the occasional accident in his foster home but this is just down to being in new surroundings.Olly is almost totally deaf, he can hear very loud noises only so will need at least one other fully hearing doggy pal in his new home as he follows his foster sisters around and gets support from them in new surroundings. This will also have to be borne in mind on walks and when out and about as he has limited recall if he finds an interesting sniff or another dog to say hello to. Once he has had a walk Olly is quite happy to settle down for a couple of hours and is fine being left for short periods. Olly is a fully fledged member of the Bliss Cavalier Fat Club as he came into rescue weighing 12.5kg, his target weight is 10kg and he has made a good start with reduced food portions and extra walks on losing some of this. He will need owners that are experienced with Cavalier health issues as he also has a heart murmur. His new owners will need to be committed to getting his weight down to his target weight to help his heart and limbs as he gets older. Olly has a grade 3 murmur currently and had an echocardiogram with us, this will need repeating in 6 months with a view to starting Vetmedin when his heart in enlargement is within protocol parameters. He is totally dog and child friendly, he really hasn’t got a bad bone in his body, however he does like a game of boisterous rough and tumble and due to his size he would easily bowl a small child over so he is looking for a home where any children are 8+.
