Flora is a beautiful, 6-year-old black and tan Cavalier that came into rescue after retiring as a breeding dog. She is looking for a wonderful forever home with at least one confident dog.
We have been on a bit of a journey with sweet Flora, and she has been with us for some time as she needed knee surgery,
Flora is more confident than your typical ex-breeder and will happily come to you for attention. She very much enjoys being outside, especially off lead so that she can stalk birds! She is very good when out and about and is gaining confidence in new situations. She travels extremely well with her doggy friends. Her exercise is being increased now following her surgery but she will need a normal amount of exercise soon ie 2x 30-minute walks a day.
She is a very good eater, sometimes even asks for second helpings and isn’t impressed when that request is denied! She has been on a bit of a diet since her arrival and is almost at her target weight. She has started to pick up toys recently to chomp on.
She has a grade 2 heart murmur, she doesn’t need medication yet as her heart is not enlarged, but she will need to be monitored. She has dry eye, so she is on veterinary-prescribed medication (approx £10 per month). Flora needed patella surgery while in rescue; she has recovered well and no longer needs pain relief for this. There is arthritis present, so she will need to be kept lean and on a supplement; in future, she may need more pain relief also. She has no other known health problems. While in rescue, she has been spayed and had a dental, echocardiogram, vaccination course and parasite treatments. She will come with 4 weeks free Petplan insurance.
We are looking for a home for her with at least one resident dog; she will not cope without a doggy friend. She does not like cats or other small furries. She can be rehomed with children/visiting children over 12 years.
Flora is in foster in North Lincolnshire. Her adopters must be prepared to purchase a lifetime insurance policy or have the means to cover any future health issues. Home workers must be able to produce a contract from their employer. Tenants must send a letter from their landlord stating they have permission to have the dog at their property.
The successful applicants must be able to travel to the foster home for the meet and greet and be immediately available for a home check. The meet and greet must occur within 5 days of a successful home check. Please can we remind you not to telephone the rescue regarding adoptions at any time. You are more than welcome to email us with any [email protected]
