About Charlie and Lola

Charlie and Lola are lovely Blenheim cavaliers that came together to rescue from a loving home. Lola is 4 and strong and healthy and Charlie is 9 but happy, healthy and his conditions well managed. Reduced adoption fee applies.

They have settled really well in foster and are adorable gentle pets. They have so much joy to give and are happy dogs who love the company of people. Having now settled we do think that they could potentially live with a resident mature dog but do need a household where people are around a lot of the time. They do seem to enjoy the company of children and really enjoying being stroked when out meeting people. They do not like cats, pigeons or squirrels and chase them where ever possible.

They love their walks and are happy to be out for up to a 45 minute walk twice a day or just a trip out to somewhere with lots of new smells and experiences. They travel really well in the car secured with seat belt harnesses on the back seat where they curl up and sleep for the journey.

Health wise - Charlie has Chiari Malformation and mild Syringomyelia which is managed with medication which he takes well. He has a low grade heart murmur but his heart is not enlarged. He does not require medication at this stage but will need further monitoring. Despite these conditions he is full of life, jumps on and off the sofa and chases Lola round the garden. In between walks he is happy to curl up with his humans and snooze. He loves a cuddle. Medication costs for Charlie will be approximately £30 per month.

Lola is in relatively good health and is a larger Cavalier. She has a strong and clear heart. She benefits from a probiotic added to her food and although she recently had a bout of pancreatitis she recovered quickly and was back to her normal lively self in 48 hours. She loves playing in the garden and going for walks. She can react excitedly when she sees other dogs but she is responding really well to training and this is improving day by day. She loves to sit at your feet and lay by you on the sofa and loves her tummy tickled.

They have slept brilliantly if allowed to sleep close by but do not like to be shut away in a kitchen. They both respond well to commands and are very well behaved.
