Arthur 11 year old ruby Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

Gorgeous 11-year-old Arthur is looking for a wonderful retirement home. Adoption fee reduced- rescue to cover his medication and vet bills.

We are looking for a loving and committed forever home for Arthur. His adopter must ensure he continues his weight loss journey to make sure he is as comfortable and happy as possible.

Arthur is an absolute darling! He loves other dogs, there must be at least one other dog in his forever home that he can buddy up with, either male or female. He is a kind boy, and he just adores everyone.

He would like a big garden to totter around in, he can’t do lengthy lead walks, so this is a must to ensure he has a great quality of life. His adopter must be pretty strong so they can lift him when needed, ie in and out of the car and on and off the sofa etc. He is still pretty heavy and has around 4kg left to lose.

We want him to go and live his best life; although we are looking for a retirement home, we do want him to have plenty of stimulation. He has spent his whole life in a very small world, it would be lovely if someone could go and show him what else is out there. Things like little beach trips and woodland visits with the help of a buggy would be just perfect.

Arthur has a medium-grade heart murmur with some enlargement, so he is on heart medication. He is on pain relief for his knees and hips, which are arthritic, although as the weight is coming off, that is improving. He has chiari malformation pain, which is well covered. He has dry eye, which is medicated too. He will need to visit the vets at least every 12 weeks so they can keep a close eye on him. He has had all of his teeth extracted while in rescue, and he is feeling fantastic after this! He has lost 9kg+ now, and it is imperative and a condition of adoption that he must continue to lose weight and then maintain.

He could live with a dog-savvy cat, but he must have at least one friendly resident dog in his forever home. His adopter must be around most of the time, he can be left for short periods with no issues. We just want the best home where someone can give him the happiest and most comfortable time.

Arthur is in foster in North Lincolnshire. Home workers must be able to produce a contract/letter from their employer. Tenants must send a letter from their landlord stating they have permission to have the dog at their property.

Adopter will be required to cover food, grooming and day-to-day living costs. The rescue will purchase all medication via veterinary prescription and directly cover vet bills.

The successful applicants must be able to travel to the foster home for the meet and greet and be immediately available for a home check. The meet and greet must occur within 5 days of a successful home check. Please can we remind you not to telephone the rescue regarding adoptions at any time, you are more than welcome to email us with any [email protected]
