Poppy is a beautiful and sweet girl, she has come into rescue from a pet home due to a change in her previous owners circumstances. She is 9 years old but don't let her age put you off, she still loves her walks and has a lot of energy and love to give. She is totally clean in the house and loves playing with toys. Poppy is a happy little girl, her tail is always wagging and her furever family will be so lucky to have her.Poppy has Cushings Disease, she has been diagnosed with a pituitary tumour and is on daily medication to manage her symptoms. She is on Vetoryl twice daily, 20mg in the morning and 20mg in the evening which has been increased slightly after slightly after seeing the specialist and this is working really well. She will need a blood test every 3 months to check that the medication is at the right level. As with most Cavaliers Poppy does have Mitral Valve disease, she is on Vetmedin twice a day. She also has dry eye another common Cavalier ailment, she is having Optimmune twice daily which is working well for her.Because of her Cushings, she is always hungry, and we have found that giving her her 3- 4 smaller meals a day does help her a lot. She does have a cute head tilt which makes her even more endearing, she really is the most lovely little girl.Poppy will be rehomed as a Forever Foster and will need to stay in the care of the rescue vet in the South Yorkshire area. The rescue will pay her vet bills for the rest of her life to ensure she gets all the care and the treatment that she needs.
